Tying Up Loose Ends

This week I’m doing the closing-up tasks, tying up loose ends at this waning moon time -- managing my online shop, sending out orders, weighing products, tightening up my pricing, doing bookkeeping.

These are all tasks I don’t get all that excited about when I think of doing them. Often, I put them last or forget to do them altogether cause I don’t think they’re that important.

The funny thing is that they are. They’re the maintenance, tidying. They’re the sweep at the end of the night, mop up before you leave. They’re the end-of-day closing tasks for an online business. It can be hard to remember to do these things when most of your work is in the digital sphere. You don’t have a physical shop to close up at the end of the day. You don’t have a physical cash box to tally up and count.

So what do you do?

How can you make these closing items tangible?

I don’t have the answer to that for you. All I know right now is that these items are important in tending to my own business’ health. Making space for them is a form of care-taking.

While I’ve learned to be okay at being organized, I’d much rather work with someone who has that forte -- someone who loves organization and maintenance. Those people exist, right? :) That may be my next request out into the universe -- bring me someone who is nuts for counting inventory! Someone who loves pricing products and shipping out orders!

Or change me into someone who finds joy in the maintenance :)
